Samsung just launched an avalanche of new products: The thinnest Fold in history, a mainstream Flip, and three types of watches! We have Czech prices Samsung introduced a new generation of foldables with an emphasis on thinness – the Galaxy Z Fold7 is 48% thinner than the first Fold A complete novelty is the more affordable Galaxy Z Flip7 FE with a price starting from 24,999 Kč and the Galaxy Watch8 in three variants The flagship models bring improved chipsets, stronger batteries, and up to a 200Mpx camera Sdílejte: Jakub Kárník Publikováno: 9. 7. 2025 16:00 Today, at the anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event in New York, Samsung officially unveiled the new generation of its foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, and a completely new, more affordable model, the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE. In addition, we also saw the new line of smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch8, including a classic version with a rotating bezel and the outdoor Galaxy Watch Ultra. Galaxy Z Fold7: when thin gets a new meaning Galaxy Z Flip7: elegant clamshell with a larger outer display Galaxy Z Flip7 FE: the first affordable foldable Common new features for all foldables Galaxy Watch8: thinner, more powerful, and healthier Prices and availability in the Czech Republic Galaxy Z Fold7: when thin gets a new meaning Undoubtedly, the main star of the entire event was the Galaxy Z Fold7, which brings the most significant evolution yet in the world of South Korean foldables. Samsung focused primarily on minimizing thickness and weight, which have long been the biggest weaknesses of its „book-style” phones. The new model is only 4.2 mm thin when unfolded and 8.9 mm when folded, representing a 26% reduction in thickness compared to its predecessor and 48% compared to the original Fold from 2020. The weight has also been reduced to 215 grams, which is 24 grams less than the Z Fold6. Both displays have also undergone significant changes. The inner AMOLED panel has grown to 8 inches (the previous one was 7.6″) with a resolution of 2224 × 2488 pixels. Interestingly, the unfolded Fold7 is thinner than, for example, the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The outer display is 6.5″ with an 21:9 aspect ratio, meaning the phone is wider when closed and offers better usability, similar to what we know from competing models (Honor Magic V or OnePlus Open). Samsung also states that the width of the outer display is now 64.9 mm (compared to 59.9 mm on the Z Fold6), which significantly improves typing comfort. The significant thinning of the Galaxy Z Fold7 is due to several new features – primarily the new Armor FlexHinge hinge design with a „Water droplet” design and a multi-rail structure. The display uses a Grade 4 titanium grid and 50% more durable Ultra-Thin Glass. The frame made of improved aluminum and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the outer parts of the device also contributes to overall strength. Inside, we find the most powerful mobile chipset currently available, a specially modified Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy with a 41% increase in NPU performance, a 38% increase in CPU performance, and a 26% improvement in graphics. This is complemented by 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of storage. Battery life is ensured by a 4400mAh battery with support for 25W charging, 15W wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. The camera has undergone a major change, now featuring a main 200Mpx sensor (the same as the S25 Ultra), a 12Mpx ultrawide lens, and a 10Mpx telephoto lens with 3× optical zoom. The photo processing engine has received a significant upgrade. The ProVisual Engine offers improved noise analysis and now supports 10-bit HDR. However, what you won’t find in the official materials and was only revealed by leaks is the fact that the Galaxy Z Fold7 has lost S Pen support. This is likely a trade-off for the extraordinary thinness. While previous generations did not support the pen directly within the phone’s body (like the S25 Ultra), they allowed working with it using a special case. This time, however, Samsung does not mention this option at all. Galaxy Z Flip7: elegant clamshell with a larger outer display The second in the lineup is the Galaxy Z Flip7, which has undergone less radical changes but still brings several interesting improvements. The main novelty is the larger outer display, called Infinity FlexWindow, with a 4.1″ diagonal and extremely thin bezels (1.25 mm). The display is significantly larger than its predecessor and now completely surrounds the dual camera as well. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and brightness reaches up to 2600 nits. The inner display has grown to 6.9″ (from the previous 6.7″) and is also wider (70.8 mm compared to 68.6 mm on the Z Flip6), bringing it closer to standard non-foldable phones. Under the hood, we surprisingly find the Exynos 2500 (unlike the Z Fold7 with Snapdragon 8 Elite), 12 GB of RAM, and 256 or 512 GB of storage. The battery has increased to 4300 mAh, which is the largest capacity yet in the Flip series models and should provide up to 31 hours of video playback on a single charge. The camera received a main 50Mpx sensor with 2× zoom, complemented by a 12Mpx ultrawide lens. Thanks to its foldable design, the Z Flip7 can also serve as a small selfie studio, according to Samsung. The front 10Mpx camera primarily serves for video calls. An interesting feature is the improved FlexCam mode, which automatically adjusts the zoom for shots without needing to hold the phone, displays the camera status directly on the outer display, and offers an improved portrait mode that adapts to lighting conditions. Galaxy Z Flip7 FE: the first affordable foldable A complete novelty in Samsung’s portfolio is the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE – the first FE (Fan Edition) model in the family of foldable phones. It is a more affordable version that retains the main advantages of the clamshell design but offers several compromises to achieve a more attractive price. Essentially, it is a model very similar to the current Flip6. The Z Flip7 FE has the same 50Mpx main camera as the standard model and retains the compact foldable design, but comes with less RAM (8 GB instead of 12 GB), lower storage capacity (128 or 256 GB), and most importantly, a smaller display. The processor is also weaker – Exynos 2400 instead of 2500 as in the standard version. It will be available in only two color variants – white and black, while the full-fledged Z Flip7 will offer blue, black, and red, plus an exclusively online available green. Common new features for all foldables All new models run on Android 16 with the One UI 8 overlay, which brings a number of improvements optimized for the foldable design. Samsung promises 7 generations of operating system updates and 7 years of security patches, which is currently the longest software support on the Android market. The Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 naturally support the full suite of Galaxy AI features, including the Google Gemini voice assistant. A new feature is Circle to Search while gaming, which allows you to get tips directly while playing without needing to leave the game. Samsung has also implemented screen sharing with Gemini Live. Security has also seen significant improvement – the new Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection ensures better protection of personal data when using AI features. Galaxy Watch8: thinner, more powerful, and healthier In addition to foldable phones, Samsung also introduced the new generation of Galaxy Watch8 smartwatches, which come in three variants – the standard Galaxy Watch8, the Galaxy Watch8 Classic with a rotating bezel, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra for demanding users and outdoor activities. All models are 11% thinner than the previous generation and offer a redesigned, more ergonomic shape that, according to Samsung’s internal tests, improves wrist stability by 8% and comfort by 12%. The displays received a brightness upgrade to up to 3000 nits (a 50% improvement), and all models are powered by a new 3nm processor. Among the new health features, Bedtime Guidance (recommendations on when to go to sleep), vascular load monitoring, running coach, and antioxidant index, which measures carotenoid levels in the skin, are worth mentioning. Samsung has also implemented Google Gemini into the watches, which is available directly on the wrist and allows voice control. The Galaxy Watch8 comes in 40 and 44 mm sizes, the Watch8 Classic has a 46 mm case, and the Watch Ultra offers a 47mm variant. All models run on the One UI 8 Watch system with an improved user interface that includes a new Now Bar, AI assistant, clearer tiles, and improved notifications.
